We have many patients who attend for assessment and treatment from out of town and we do have accommodation available at Bezzina House which is very pleasant and affordable accommodation for patients and their families.
Patients and their families may stay at Bezzina House both before and after surgery until both the treating Doctor and patient are happy that it is safe for them to return to home. Our clinical psychologist and our outpatient nurses will regularly visit patients in the lodge to ensure progress is satisfactory.
We believe patient education is vital for making informed decisions and aim to address and answer all questions you and your family may have related to your health.
The practice nurse will establish a relationship with the patients and their families immediately following their consultation with the specialist. There is extensive education given to patients requiring a radical prostatectomy, nephrectomies, cystectomies pre-operative. Anatomical structures, computerised graphics and product demonstrations regarding catheters and surgical drains are part of this educational session.
Our Practice Nurse is available to all patients and their families to provide consistent support and answer any of your questions.
